In order to better understand the flow of resources within developing countries and countries in transition, the RF project conducted 15 case studies in the following countries:

Sub-Saharan Africa: Ethiopia, Nigeria (report pending), Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania
Asia and the Pacific: China, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan and Thailand (report pending)
Latin America and the Caribbean: Brazil and Peru
Western Asia and North Africa: Egypt
Eastern and Southern Europe: Poland
Highlights of country case studies: Senegal, Indonesia, Tanzania, Egypt

These case studies were instrumental in strengthening domestic data collection and building local capacity. They allowed the RF project to better report on policy development and financing of the health sector.
